About Unity Lodge 376

A Legacy of Brotherhood and Service Since 1879

Unity Lodge No. 376, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, has been a cornerstone of the Huntsville community since its chartering on September 10, 1879. The inaugural officers—Worshipful Master Rev. William Macaulay Tooke, Senior Warden Alfred Denton, and Junior Warden Frederick Harris—laid the foundation for a lodge committed to the principles of brotherhood, moral integrity, and community service.

As part of the Grand Lodge of A.F. & A.M. of Canada in the Province of Ontario, Unity Lodge has played a significant role in the development of Freemasonry in the region. In 1879, the same year Unity Lodge was established, the Georgian District No. 9 was formed, encompassing Unity Lodge and other lodges in the area.

Unity Lodge No. 376, meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 8:00 p.m., from September to June.

Unity Lodge & Masonic Temple

It's important to differentiate between Unity Lodge No. 376 and the Huntsville Masonic Temple:

  • Unity Lodge No. 376: This refers to the Masonic organization itself—a fraternity of men dedicated to personal development, ethical living, and community involvement. The lodge conducts regular meetings, rituals, and charitable activities in alignment with Masonic principles.

  • Huntsville Masonic Temple: Located at 741 Muskoka District Road #3 North in Huntsville, serves as the physical meeting place for Unity Lodge No. 376. The temple is not only a venue for Masonic gatherings but also a landmark reflecting the lodge's longstanding presence in the community.
